Mattel’s Color Splash Buddies & Boat Bathtub Toy
As a Mattel’s Disney Insider I have the distinct pleasure of sharing a new playtime toy for the bath! This time we are featuring our friends from Toy Story.
Ethan is a Toy Story fanatic… and he loves bath time. What better way to enjoy both than with Mattel’s new Color Splash Buddies & Boat!
When the water is high, the party is fly. With the Toy Story Party-Saurus Boat, the party is always fly. Featuring multiple areas for play, the boat also adds color-change and built-in flashing LED lights for an incredible party atmosphere. Color Splash Buddies figures can fall through the trap door and into the cold-water tub to magically transform their look. Transform them back by diving off the boat into the warm bathwater. Comes with an exclusive Party-Saurus Rex figure, wearing a Viking helmet and squid dreadlocks as seen in the animated Disney short now playing with Finding Nemo 3D.
Ethan wanted to have a bubble bath just like in the video below. So we loaded up the bath and got the party boat going. The lights flash for a short period of time and then shut off. Obviously someone with kids thought of this because my Ethan has the short term memory of an ant lately and he would leave it on and drain the batteries after the first use.
The boat floats well and there are little pegs on the deck for stability for Rex and Ducky. To be honest, though, Ethan didn’t have any of the characters stay on the boat long enough to need stability. They were all jumping off, falling off or jumping on from the ledge of the tub.
Several of the characters changed colors in the warm water during playtime, too! I caught this photo while Ethan was playing with Rex so you could see some of the changes. I don’t think he was interested in the color changing, but Emma will be and I’m sure she’ll want the cold water bath to change them back and forth during play.
This is a simple imaginative toy with the added fun of flashing lights. My kids always enjoy re-enacting movies they’ve seen and with Mattel’s Color Splash Buddies and Boat they can bring the on-screen tale home into the tub. Toys that encourage imagination are a winner in my book!
