Thank you to LUNA Protein for providing me a LUNA Protein sample pack to review. The opinions I’ve expressed here are solely my own and represent my honest viewpoint.
I’m sure you’ve heard of LUNA Bars, the protein bars from CLIF designed specifically for active women, but here are some facts you might not know:
LUNA Protein is the first high protein bar for women that provides satiation with natural and organic ingredients. In under 200 calories, LUNA Protein offers 12 grams of soy and whey protein and 3 grams of fiber to satisfy hunger. It contains no artificial sweeteners, high fructose corn syrup or trans fats, and no ingredients sourced from genetically modified organisms.
LUNA Protein Bars are available in five delicious flavors and are now gluten-free. Each bar contains fewer than 200 calories and are formulated to help keep you feeling full longer so you can make it to your next meal without eating everything in your path (yes, I’ve been there).
LUNA Protein Bar Flavors
- Chocolate Peanut Butter
- Chocolate
- Cookie Dough
- Chocolate Cherry Almond
- Mint Chocolate Chip
As a mom to four children, sometimes my life feels like I’m in a whirlwind. It seems like one child always needs something… sometimes all of them need something from me at once.
Here is a tip I have recently learned : You can’t forget about yourself!
Your life revolves around your family, but your family needs you to take care of yourself.
I have been “working” on myself for the past 10 months including my diet, adding movement to my day and making time for myself (mental health). Many times our day is busy busy busy and lunchtime sneaks up on me. The kids are famished as am I. If I’m not careful I can eat my entire lunch standing at the kitchen counter while making their lunch. Mindless eating can be dangerous.
I’ve found that if I nibble on a Luna bar while making their lunch it takes the edge off my hunger, keeps me in control and even helps cut back on my daily chocolate cravings. Of the five flavors, cherry chocolate almond has been my favorite with chocolate coming in a close second.
I’ve also tossed a Luna bar into my bag as a “just in case” snack while running errands. We all know the outcome of grocery shopping while hungry, right? If I do grab a lunch for the kids while out, I have more self control and can keep my hands out of their french fry bag.
Check out the nutritional label from the cherry chocolate almond:

Here’s something I learned: The bottom line is that it just makes sense to consume fewer pesticides and chemicals. Don’t let food costs steer you away from the healthier choice. In some cases where organic foods may be more expensive, think of it as a small investment in the health of your body, your family, your health and the planet.
