Frecklebox Personalized Gifts for Kids : Review [CLOSED Giveaway]

Emma and Ethan are easy to please when it comes to gifts, but for some reason a gift with their name on it makes them smile extra wide. I sometimes have a hard time finding personalized gifts for Emma because her “real” name (Emmaline) is not very common and usually not found premade.

When Frecklebox agreed to let us review a few items I called the kids to the computer to help me shop. I have to admit, it was a difficult decision. Emma really liked the personalized growth charts and Ethan was eyeing the personalized coloring books.

After a little guidance we found the placemats. Ethan has a thing for police cars and this one was perfect for him. Emma, on the other hand, had a hard time deciding between the princess look, the ballerina or the owls. As you can see, she chose the owls. Recently both kids have become fascinated with their middle names, so when Emma requested Emma Grace… Ethan replied he needed Ethan Daniel.

Both of the kids have also begun “writing” on things. They usually go for the magnadoodle, but occasionally they grab a piece of paper from the printer. I thought the personalized notebooks were a perfect choice for them. Again, I let them chose their design. This time Emma wanted the “kitties” and Ethan thought the monsters were funny.

My order arrived in record time and was packaged nicely so that nothing would be bent. I have become a placemat expert in the past 19 years of being a mom. These are very nice quality and laminated with a nice thick plastic. I have a hard time with cheaper placemats from “the marts” that tend to separate or peel. I can tell these are not going to have that problem. The artwork is detailed and adorable and both kids were giggling with excitement to see their names on their placemats. We have a drawer full of them, but they both insist at every meal to use their new ones.

The notebooks surprised me as well. The covers are much thicker than a typical school notebook and I would swear they were laminated as well. The covers don’t bend or tear like the cheap ones I’m used to buying and (again) the artwork is adorable. Both children love their notebooks and I am going to love having all of their drawings and pre-writing babble in a spiral bound notebook to keep forever.

    I learned they do not a Big Sister book, they have a Big Brother though. My granddaughter is going to be a big sister soon, although she is confused, she thinks she will be a big brother if the baby is a boy!

    I did really like the Making Waves puzzle the beach is one of our favorite places as my daughter lives in Chicago and I in Detroit so we meet at Lake Michigan all summer. We are hoping for a good day tomorrow for one more beach day before winter.
