There are times in our day when Big Sis gets to watch a little TV. She enjoys TV when she wakes up from nap for a bit. She’s not one to pop out of bed ready to go, so I let her lay low for about a half hour and “wake up” while watching a show. She also likes to wind down at night and watch a show before bed. Again, she gets to relax and watch 15-30 minutes of a show.

Barney is a great show for these times. They are short episodes. They are fun. They teach kindness. They are musical.

I like that she enjoys Barney because I don’t have to worry about her hearing the wrong things and learning poor choices from the shows she’s watching.

There is a new 3 DVD Set of Barney shows called Barney Loves You.

One DVD is We Love Our Family. This movie is about the love we get from our friends and family. This DVD shows the fun and warmth that comes from being together with our family. It also includes some fun Bonus Features: a Dino Dress-Up Game, and a little Featurette – Welcome, Cousin Riff.

The second DVD is I Love My Friends. This movie shows what it means to be a true friend. The Bonus Features on this one are Book Of Hugs Read-Along and If You’re Happy and You Know It Sing-Along. This ia a fun movie to watch to learn how to be a nice friend to others.

The third DVD is You Can Be Anything. This is a fun dress-up movie. Barney and his friends dress-up in different costumes and “try on” different jobs. This is a good movie to see what different people do in their jobs. It’s also creative and imaginative!

All together these movies are about 144 minutes. But that time is very easily broken down by the different shows. This is great because it means the child(ren) doesn’t have to sit that long, but can still enjoy them!

Barney is full of imagination, color, fun, and music. These are all great shows to watch and learn from. Visit the Barney WEBSITE and play fun games, watch videos, and sing and dance along.
