Released October 18… fans of the perennial family classic Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory can now purchase the iconic film in a numbered Ultimate Collector’s Edition Set as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.

The film Roger Ebert called a “genuine work of imagination,” starring Gene Wilder in one of his most famous roles, will now dazzle as a delectable Three-Disc Blu-ray/DVD combo in double-wide giftset packaging, perfect for holiday gift-giving.

Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition will contain over an hour of extras, including Mel Stuart’s Wonkavision, a brand new interview with the director; a new-to-DVD featurette on author Roald Dahl; a 144-page production book reprint filled with production photos and notes, and archival letters.

I grew up with this timeless classic edition of Willy Wonka. Gene Wilder was beyond amazing in this role as Willy Wonka. Now I can share some childhood memories with my kids as well as some fun trinkets to get them excited about watching it with me. I showed the Golden Ticket to the little girl next door and her eyes widened and she stood in amazement that I I had a Golden Ticket. The tin containers pencils and a sharpener (I have to admit I was a little sad it wasn’t a real chocolate bar Winking smile) and the production book was fun to flip through and take in. This will remain in the family and be passed down so my (future) grandchildren can enjoy it as well.
