Flor (www.flor.com) is a Chicago-based company that makes modular floor covering. FLOR is a perfect solution to integrate color into a living space in a sophisticated matter. The FLOR carpet square system is multi functional and interactive — designs can be customized to almost any shape/form/material to meet personal tastes and decor needs. With Flor’s latest styles and colors for spring the selection is fabulous.
Flor offers a unique product in particular, Rug Duets, that are a fun way to brighten up any entryway. These are made up of two carpet squares that are perfect for smaller areas. They make a statement for spring and range in price from only $22 – 60 per set.
I have been wanting rugs in my kitchen (in front of the sink and fridge) for ages now. Our old set was tossed out not long after we moved in (9 years ago) and I just never could find a set I liked and could afford at the moment. When FLOR approached me for a review I was excited to go kitchen shopping.
My kitchen is decorated in fruits and vegetables, but mainly apples. The walls are green and I have apple curtains and apple wall decorations. The red in my curtains is not a bright cherry red, but more of a darker red. It sounds tacky, but I promise it’s not. So when I saw the Greetings Duet in firecracker I thought the colors were perfect with the red and greens with hints of other fruits and vegetable colors.
The website clearly states:

The rugs arrived and I excitedly opened the box. They are great quality with a decent weight to them, which is what I wanted. I hate chasing my kitchen rugs across the floor because they scoot when walked or stood on. They are only .280 inches thick so I don’t have to worry about a tripping hazard. I have to say that the colors are much brighter in person and I am currently searching for another spot to put them. I do not dislike them, but firecracker is not a good match for my kitchen after all. I am not completely disappointed, though. Ethan’s bedroom is decorated in primary colors so I am considering putting them in front of the toy box. He needed a little rug in his room!
Speaking of Ethan’s room… I saw this Duet set in the pattern Squared Silly Circus that I thought would be perfect for a little boys room. FLOR has so many colors and patterns to choose from that I could window shop there all day.

I love that the FLOR squares washable and replaceable. With a 2 year old, 2 dogs and a cat that is a great benefit!

I love the variety of purple carpet squares at FLOR, and the design-your-own rug feature is really cool. I designed a great rug that has all the different purple squares in it. It’s way awesome.
