Valentines Day Chocolates at Whole Foods Market
When trying to eat a healthy diet, avoiding certain ingredients, trying to eat responsibly it can be difficult to find that occasional indulgence to satisfy your sweet tooth. I’ve recently become aware of Whole Foods Market, a grocery store dedicated to selling the highest quality natural and organic products available. After sifting through their site I was pleased to see that not only do they have a set list of unacceptable ingredients in food, but they also participate in a whole trade program with other countries.
Chocolate is a weakness in our house, and fortunately for us it is a typical Valentines Day gift. Whole Foods Market sent us a small variety of their chocolate items to sample. I was surprised to see the Pear & Almond bar. We adore dark chocolate in our house, but have never tasted a bar infused with fruit.
Out of the three, the 71% Cacao Costa Rica Dark Chocolate, the organic milk chocolate (Tauzania Schoolhouse Project) and the dark chocolate Pear & Almond… the Pear & Almond was the clear winner! Although there wasn’t a bad one in the bunch, the adults were protective of the dark chocolate while Emma & Ethan devoured the milk chocolate. I was pleased to see a short simple ingredients list on the back of the labels and felt ok with letting the clan enjoy.
If you are looking for a more traditional Valentine, they also offer assorted chocolates in heart shaped boxes.
I was so very thankful for the attached card on the box. If left to chance, my family will bite into a chocolate and leave the other half in the box if it ends up being a non-desirable variety. We were able to divide the box according to likes and dislikes. At first look at the ingredients list I was a little worried. After reading through it, I realized that making 14 different chocolates required different ingredients. This is a great way to avoid chemicals and overly processed foods and still indulge on this day of love.

Pear and almond chocolate! That sounds absolutely amazing. I must purchase some.
All these chocolates look so delicious. It is nice to know there are healthy options out there. I have never shopped for chocolates at Whole Foods, but I will definitely have to check them out this year. I would love to try the dark chocolate pear & almond. Thank you for sharing this great post!
They all look so yummy! I didn’t know that there were chocolate companies like this. Thanks for sharing.
