Windows XP and Office are 10 years old this month!
Do you remember what your life was like 10 years ago? Has anything improved or changed? In the technology field 10 years feels like 100 given how quickly products morph, grow and fall out of fashion.
Ten years ago I would have never guessed my life would be where it is now. My husband and I had been married 13 years and we had two beautiful children ages 4 and 9. I was a stay at home mom looking at the possibility of heading back to work when Joshua entered kindergarten. We were open to more children, but it didn’t look like it would be in the cards for us as I suffered from PCOS and my body wasn’t cooperating.
Ten years later, I am still a stay at home mom (with a short “time off” for a year before I became pregnant with Emma) but now I have four children ages 19, 14, (almost) 5 and 3. I’ve dropped over 100 pounds and I actually went for a six mile run two days ago! I actually feel (and look) younger than I did 10 years ago.
This blog post made me realize that it’s time for a professional family photo… but I was able to find this webcam photo of myself with all four of the children taken last year. My life has changed in so many ways, but my children and 23 years with my husband are the best changes. My life is full of love and I am incredibly blessed to have our “second wind” babies (I’ve been asked if they are from a second marriage. My answer is “No, second wind.”) in my life.
Looking back at my 2001 photo, Kaytlin and Josh are babies! Ten years does seem like hundreds… well not hundreds, but they are so grown up now! Fortunately for us, our family hasn’t morphed so much that we are “out of fashion”… I think we have only gotten better with age .
Disclosure: I am a Windows Champion blogger and I received loan of laptop and may receive other awards from Microsoft to post my opinion about Microsoft products.
you.look.flipping.awesome.
that is all.
That picture of you and your kids from last year is adorable!! My life has changed drastically in ten years…ten years ago I was a single mom of an 8 year old boy. In 2007 I got married and am now a SAHM of three boys who are 18, 3 and 2 years old! It all goes by in a blink of an eye!
I came here hunting something else, but this interested me regardless. Interesting stuff!
