Text-Ur Craft Foam Kits
Text-Ur foam craft kits are a new item that takes craft foam to a whole new level. This craft foam has various textures which makes it more fun and creates more options. Also, text-Ur craft foam comes with 3D space-ur sticky squares. Instead of thin squares used to stick the various pieces together, there are thick squares that can be used to create a 3D effect.
My kids love to do crafts so getting the chance to try the text-Ur foam craft kits was something I knew would be right up their alley. We were given the “Standard Package” which consists of:
- 1 Shape kit – Bugs
- 1 Frame kit- Flower theme
- 1 Bee standup kit
- 1 Turtle standup kit
-
1 Set of foam sheets
The first set my girls wanted to try was the Bugs kit. Mikenah LOVES ladybugs, so I knew she was eyeing that one! Michaela decided on the lizard/gecko. Before opening the packaging, I wasn’t sure if we would need scissors or glue, but once we got everything out, I was pleasantly surprised to see that everything needed was included. Mikenah decided that instead of smiling nicely, she wanted to stick her tongue out like a lizard. It was that, or she was just being crazy like normal. Either way, she was super excited to get started.
After setting everything up, I wasn’t sure if Mikenah (age 6) would need help or not. I showed her which pieces were for the ladybug and she went to work. The process is simple. All they had to do was punch out the pieces they wanted to use, and either peel off the back to reveal a sticky side or grab a double-sided sticky square and pull off the paper backings to make it stick.
Both girls worked quietly on their bugs and had a great time being creative! We happened to be at someone else’s house, and before the girls could finish, we had to leave, but clean-up was a breeze! All we had to do was throw away the trash, and load up the leftover pieces into a baggie.
The next day, my super-duper crafty kid, Mikenah, went crazy and tore into the rest of the kits. All of them were pretty easy and she had a blast. Her favorite this day was the turtle. My favorite this day was her “I just played outside and my hair looks like a rat’s nest” look. Then again, her hair looks like that most days. J I gave up on the whole “my kids must look perfect at all times” phase a long time ago. Ha!
Below is a sample of some of the projects. As you can see, some are still in the process of being made, and others are perfectly comeplete. I think Mikenah could do one of these every day and be happy as a lark!
These crafts are great for the kid who likes to follow directions and duplicate the pictures on the packaging, but they are also fantastic for kids that like to be creative and do their own thing. There are no “rules” with these crafts and my girls had a fun time making all kinds of cute things. I like that mostly everything is included and even though there are small pieces, it was all easy to clean up.
