If you have ever gone through potty training a toddler, you know that sometimes it takes a little more than “OH!, you made Mommy so happy!” to get consistent positive results. Rewards are oftentimes used along with encouragement… everything from candy, to sticker charts (with a big final reward) and the like.
Ethan is our fourth, and final little person to potty train (can you hear the crowds shouting “hooray!”???). It also seems that Ethan is going to be our biggest challenge. He will be turning three this July… the same age that Kaytlin and Joshua finished training.
I guess I assumed that since Emma self-trained herself at 26 months that Ethan would, too (insert laughter track here). At one point I thought he was almost there… going fairly consistently in the potty, but then he got so sick that he practically lived on the couch for a week. Now when I ask him why he won’t go on the potty, he sweetly answers “I don’t want to.”.
Ethan was super excited when he saw that Pull-Ups now features Cars2 for boys (Disney Princesses for girls). Where we are with the potty training journey..Our daughter is almost 20 months old.. she loveees sitting on her potty but not doing anything on it! She’s cloth diapered but I’m not sure how thats going to affect potty training!

My son is completely pee trained day and night, but not even close in the poo side. he refuses to go in the potty.

We are pretty much finished with potty training but my 2 yr old son still wears pull ups for nap and nighttime!
We are at the begining of our Potty training journey. Our daughter is 22 months old and already peeing at will :O) Let the games BEGIN!!!
We have using the potty under control in the daytime, but naps are iffy and we HAVE to use a pullup at night. We’re getting there, but the nighttime training seems to be where we have stalled out!

Gavin will be 3 next month, July 24th. Potty is going great for #1’s… he goes on his own when ever he feels the urge, he even washes his hands after. Now #2, that’s different he will still only go in a pull-up! He takes naps pull-up free however during the night and when we go on outings he is still in a pull-up! But he is doing awesome and gets so excited when he goes pee pee. Next up to train will be Madison who is still only 1 1/2.
We have just started our potty training journey, my son is just two and I am expecting a baby this week so I have slowed down the training because everyone warned me about regression. I am planning on starting it up again full steam ahead as soon as the new baby is here and we are settled in a routine.

My son didn’t finish potty training until he was 3.5! hE is now 4.5 and I am so glad to be done with the cost and hassle of diapers! He has also only had 1 accident since being potty trained at night, and that was him sleepwalking into my room and being on my floor, so sort of an oddity and I think he thought he was in the bathroom!

We had the same experience. Our son (who turned 3 in May) was almost fully trained when he suddenly decided he “didn’t feel like going potty” anymore. I keep reminding myself that you can’t push them and they’ll do it when they’re ready. Thanks for the chance to win!

Well we thought we had it ages ago but Miss 2 year old decided she didn’t feel like telling us anymore so we are in undies when awake and mommy or daddy putting her on the potty every 30-40 minutes. My son, Coy, turned 2 this May and he recently started showing a lot of interest in the potty so we are still in the first month! He gets excited to wear his “big boy underwear” (training pants) but he is still in the mindset that he only needs to use the potty when he wants to and is convenient for him!
