I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Neutrogena. I received samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
I come from a long line of sun worshipers. For as far back as I can remember, my family spent hours on end in the sun… on the boat, at the beach, and in the backyard with a kiddie pool. When the sun came up, we were out there. The love affair only heightened when my parents put in an in ground pool.
Back then we weren’t aware of the dangers of sun exposure. If I were to end the day with a sunburn my mom would kiss it and tell me I would feel better in the morning. Little did we know that sunburns in children increase the odds of developing skin cancer later in life.
My worst experience with sun exposure was a day at the pond fishing. I remember coming home at the end of the day red, hot but cold and sick sick sick. To be honest, I don’t think I ever heard of sun block until I was an adult… up until then we purchased sun tanning lotion or used baby oil.
Our family line of sun worshipers has grown over the years. I am now a mom to four and we still spend as much time outdoors as we can. But now we know about skin health and sun exposure and we lotion up before we head outside.
As warmer weather breezes in, beach trips, BBQs and countless hours spent in the sun become the norm for summer months. As we soak up as much time as possible outdoors with our families, we must also remember that the sun is soaking in as well, and to keep sunscreen handy for frequent re-application.
I am even more adamant about applying sunscreen on myself and my children because several of my older family members that used to spend hours outside with me have been diagnosed with skin cancer. Fortunately they caught it early and the doctors removed it without ill affect, but I don’t want to chance it with my own children.
I recently discovered Neutrogena Sun products and have been using them exclusively on my children. Ethan is fair complected with sensitive skin so I have to be careful which brands I use. With his sensitive skin he has to take extra care in protecting his skin from the sun’s damaging rays.
As my family gets ready to spend a day in the sun we not only apply sunscreen, but talk with the children about why it’s important and remind them why we need to re-apply during the day.
Neutrogena Sun products were awarded the National Eczema Association (NEA) Seal of Acceptance. I have a mild case of eczema so I know how sensitive skin can be from that. That gives me confidence in knowing that my Ethan will be comfortable as well as protected as he spends his day splashing around in the pool.

these sound excellent. I’m using high SPF sunscreen and stay covered up, as I was also out in the sun too much for years. I’m sensitive to many sunscreens I need to try these!
I already use Neutrogena sunscreen but will have to check out the sensitive skin formula!
Very important to protect your skin from the sun in the summer, awesome they offer sun protection for sensitive skin.
We all use Neutrogena sunscreen products and my son loves the sensitive skin product. He goes tubing with his friends, so sun protection is important 🙂
My daughter (oldest) really needs this!
I believe in using sunscreen, but don’t like the products I’ve used. Have to try these.
