Mega Bloks Barbie Build n Style Play Sets from Walmart

I was recently sent a Mega Bloks Barbie Build’n Style Luxury Mansion for Emma and Ethan to review. I knew this would be right up their ally as they have been spending quite a bit of time lately building things with similar free play sets, and of course everyone loves Barbie.

Design a dream-house-come-true with the Mega Bloks Barbie Build ‘n Style Luxury Mansion! Decorate eight interchangeable rooms that can be built any way you want! Barbie can build a bedroom with a beautiful canopy bed, a fun living room where Barbie and friends can relax or a bathroom with a “bubbly” tub! Take the working elevator all the way to the top floor for a super fun party with Fab Girl dolls Barbie, Teresa and all their friends!

They also received two Mega Bloks Barbie sets to add to the fun.

This set contains 301 pieces, most of which are very small. Although the box quotes ages 4 and up there was no way Emma and Ethan could assemble this on their own. Their Dad and I sat on the floor and began the assembly process together.

As we followed the directions and assembled each room I was impressed with all of the details. From accent pillows, shiny silver faucets, blow dryer and hair brush and flowers on the porch. Even the flat screen tv swivels and pivots for viewing from any direction!

The mansion set comes with two Barbie figures, each with interchangeable pieces. Emma and Ethan thought it was incredibly funny (and fun) that they could change their hair and share their clothes.

It took nearly and hour and a half for the two of us to complete the initial assembly (including applying stickers), but the end result was incredible. The kids were practically jumping up and down waiting for me to finish snapping pictures. At the word go, their imagination kicked in.

Emma and Ethan had nearly and hour of uninterrupted imaginative play. They loved the small pieces, how easily it was to change up the scenery and the little details like cupcakes, pizza, the elevator in the house and the front door. Although I wouldn’t suggest younger children try to put this together, once it’s assembled my 4 and 6 year old thoroughly enjoyed playing with it. When we disassembled the mansion we made sure to keep many of the pieces like the couch together so that they could easily put it back together using their own designs.
