McCormick® Skillet Sauces
Samples provided. All opinions are my own.
Coming up with quick homemade dinner ideas that the whole family will love isn’t the easiest task and it’s even trickier when you’re a bit crunched for time. My kids were getting tired of plain old chicken, but between lack of time and ambition that was what they were getting.
I had heard that McCormick® recently launched their new McCormick® Skillet Sauces at Walmart. I decided to check them out on my next trip.
I initially had a difficult time finding them and was concerned my Walmart didn’t have them in stock yet. I started my search in the sauce aisle. I found another brand of skillet sauces, but not McCormick®.
I decided to check by all the McCormick® spices and that is where I found the display.
There are seven different varieties of McCormick® Skillet Sauces and each one comes with a custom recipe.
We decided to give Sicilian Chicken with tomato, basic & garlic a go.
The process was so easy, I don’t know why I didn’t try this sooner. With just a matter of adding vegetables and sauce our bland chicken breast was a tasty work of art.
This is what we did:
You’ll need
• 1 pkg. McCormick Skillet Sauce
• 2 tbsp. olive oil
• 1 lb. thin-sliced boneless skinless chicken breasts
• 2 cups sliced mushrooms
• 1 each bell pepper and onion, cut into strips
Directions
Prep Time: 10 min.
Cook Time: 15 min.
HEAT oil in skillet on medium-high heat. Add chicken; cook 5 minutes or until lightly browned, turning once. Remove from skillet.
STIR vegetables into skillet; cook and stir 5 minutes or until tender.
STIR in Sauce. Return chicken to skillet. Reduce heat and simmer 2 minutes or until heated through. Serve with cooked pasta, if desired.
Makes 4 servings.
To Prepare in Slow Cooker: Place 1 1/2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, 1 bell pepper, cut into strips, and 1 onion, cut into wedges, in 4-quart slow cooker. Pour Sauce over top. Cover. Cook 8 hours on LOW or 4 hours on HIGH.
My son didn’t speak during the entire meal… he was too busy shoving chicken into his mouth.
As I walked over to remove his plate he began to rub his green beans through the sauce, he liked it that much.
