The site of a Hostess Twinkie or cupcake brings back childhood memories. Although I only indulge on rare occasions the creamy, cakey, golden cake and the fluffy white filling always takes me back.
Fall is great time to incorporate Hostess Cakes into your upcoming fall parties. With most school districts requesting purchased treats and many parents too busy to make them at home, simply grabbing a box of cupcakes or Twinkies makes a great contribution to the classroom party.
Hosting a Halloween party at home? There are so many fun ways to play with Twinkies. With a little frosting you can turn them into Frankenstein’s bride. Like cake pops? Cut the Twinkie into bite sized pieces and dip… instant cake pop! Looking for something a little more spooky? Try mummifying your Twinkies!
When you’re done dressing up your confections, head over to Hostess’s Facebook Page and share a picture of yourself with them. You might just be the next Hostess Snackstar of the week!
It’s National Dessert Month after all! What better way to celebrate than to play and experiment with your food? My grandma introduced me to Hostess Cupcakes as a special treat. I allow my children to indulge occasionally too, usually as a pat on the back or a job well done. The smiles a cupcake can bring are priceless.
Hostess baked goods are the best-selling snack cake in the history of forever. Although they are not a staple on our grocery list they are a fun addition to any get together, party or even a tailgating party! Not only are they delicious as is, but they are also super versatile. You’ve heard of deep fried Twinkies, right? Well… how about a Twinkie on the grill next to your burger? REALLY… give it a try!

I just want to borrow the babies! So cute! I think my favorite hostess memory is as a little girl. My brother moved out when I was 8 so I only have a few memories of him at home, but he used to take me out riding in his car, and we would go to the country store and buy a pack of twinkies to share. Funny how I don’t remember him at home much, but I remember those rides and twinkies!
When I was a little girl, every time my dad when to the store, he would always buy me a hostess treat, whether it be a twinkie, donettes or a cupcake…I’d be so happy!
I was in a twinkie eating contest once…you wouldn’t believe how hard it is to swallow them with nothing to drink :p
Once or twice a year, our parents would take us to the Hostess Outlet in our city. We were each allowed to pick out two items – we always looked forward to those trips!
One childhood memory that I will forever cherish is going to work with my Grandpa (who was my best friend, too). We would stop at a mom & pop shop along the way – out in the boonies – and he would buy me a root beer and a package of Hostess Suzy Q’s. I looked forward to it everyday!
It was always a special treat when I got a Hostess Snowball in my lunchbox. My mom always bought the pink ones, they are my favorite.
getting the box of twinkies and being able to bring them to school in my lunch..usually had plain jane desserts, so it was always a huge treat

I remember it was so exciting to always go visit our Grandmother’s house because she always had a cubbard full of Hostess goodies. My favorite was always the cupcakes and we use to sit out on her porch with a glass of Koolaid with our cousins eating the cupcakes. Such fond memories 🙂
It was my first day of “real school” ( first grade): I was very scared and not sure what to expect. Lo and behold- when I opened my lunch box I found not one, not two, but THREE Hostess chocolate cupcakes! Well, I made two friends that day- and I was taught how to jump rope at recess!
I remember trying my first cupcake one a few years ago. It was very very delicious.
I attended a Paul Revere and the Raiders concert and Paul Revere threw a Twinkie right to me!

My best memory is when my mom packed me a Raspberry Zinger in my lunch. It made me feel special and I loved those the most (we rarely got these since I was the only one who loved them).
That picture is adorable of the Twinkies Twins. 🙂
I guess my fondest memory is when my 7 kids were very little (before they had their ow families) and they all had come inside from school. We always had snacks when they came home but they were healthy. I bought Hostess Chocolate cupcakes and Twinkies with glasses of milk and their face expressions as they stared at the platter was just priceless, not a sound (which is rare with 7 kids) lol. And so after that that’s what we kept in the house. 🙂

My favorite memory was years ago whenever we took school field trips, my mom would pack my lunches and I’d always look forward to knowing she picked me up a Hostess cupcake and had that in my lunch. I’d eat that before anything else
My “favorite” Hostess snack cake memory is the fact that every time my parents decided to break the news to my 2 brothers and myself that we would be getting a new sibling, they would buy hostess cakes…( she NEVER bought these, ever…lol) and when she would go to the hospital to have a baby, she’d buy them then as well… to this day, if I bite a twinkie, I feel like I am getting a sister…LOL

My favorite Hostess Snack Cake memory is when I was sitting at the kitchen table and made my mom laugh by placing two twinkies on separate forks and imitating the scene in Benny & June where Johnny Depp uses hotdog rolls on forks as dancing feet. I was young, and it was funny at the time. I liked that movie.

I know this might sounds little weird or CRAZY! But having FUN when I was in high school we would play “Road Kill” with Twinkies 🙂 So everyone would get a Twinkie and place it in the road where ever they wanted to, and when a car would run over your Twinkie you had to eat it….CRAZY RIGHT! Well, it wasn’t to bad because they Twinkie was always smashed inside the little package …It was a FUN memory, good old times but if we did it know we would probably get in trouble…LOL!
