Epiphanie London Backpack Camera Bag
Bag compliments of Epiphanie. All opinions are my own.
With all of the traveling I’ve done over the past few years, I’ve learned a valuable lesson… consolidation.
Carrying a laptop bag, a camera bag, a personal bag and dragging a carry on is not very efficient.
Enter the Epiphanie London Backpack Camera Bag.
Our London backpack + messenger style camera bag protects your gear without compromising style. London will accommodate most 17″ laptops, iPad or tablet/eReader, camera + attached lens, 1-2 lenses (including 70-200), flash, battery pack and wallet. Extra pockets ideal for storage of keys, cell phone, memory cards, business cards, travel maps and more!
The London is constructed with water-resistant, high-quality synthetic leather with antique brass hardware. Measuring in at a good size of 17.5″L x 6.5″W x 12″H and weighing only 4 pounds it has a sophisticated look and a durable feel.
The London is the perfect all-in-one bag for me when traveling. There is a space for everything and everything fits comfortably in it’s place. No more digging through my entire bag to find my wallet that slipped into oblivion.
With two front slide in pockets I can put items like my external battery charger for my phone, my boarding documents, extra batteries for the camera… anything small that might get lost inside.
With a closeable pocket on each side of the bag I can toss in my keys, memory cards, extra camera batteries or even lens filters.
I need to mention the adorable camera charm that comes with each Epiphanie bag.
I adore this little accent!
Unfortunately mine fell off on the plane my first trip out with it. It’s on my to-do list to reorder one though!
Just under the flap is a zipper top closure to keep your items secure in case of a topple.
The inside features ultra-soft beige lining crafted with extra padding for maximum equipment protection. I love that there is a sewn-in foam panel separating the laptop section from the camera sections. I always travel with a laptop or tablet and being able to just slide it into the bag and know it’s protected means a lot to me.
The center features four Velcro panels that can be adjusted to any position for maximum customization (2 long, 2 short). I actually took one out to make 3 sections as I was transporting my camera with a lens on it. If you need even more room you can remove all of the panels to convert to a regular backpack or messenger bag easily.
There are 3 carrying options with this particular bag: via the top handle, with the removable, adjustable padded cross-body strap or backpack style.
The back zipper pocket offers storage or converts into a travel sleeve so the camera bag slides over your suitcase handle.
Above you can see an animated view of how the London looks while being used as a backpack. I love this feature when you need your hands free and don’t want to worry about your bag slipping off your shoulders.
This method works great on the set of a shoot giving you quick access to your bag instead of hunting it down to change lenses.
Cross body or over the shoulder is great for a quick grab and go. The pad on the shoulder strap helps distribute the weight of the bag without digging in and causing pain.
Above is my bag loaded ready for a press trip to Seattle. In the center is my Nikon D5100 with a lens attached wearing a Camera Coat. I prefer not to travel long distances with several lenses because I need the rest of the bag for my necessities.
To the right is my sunglass case and wallet and to the left are my headphones for the plane.
In the laptop pocket is my laptop and printed papers with my itinerary, flight information, etc.
I used my front pockets for an external phone battery charger (backup) and my eating out guide for Nutrisystem.
I was able to get around the airport easily without my bag slipping off my shoulders (I basically have no shoulders… nothing stays put there). This reduced my stress level immensely as I always worry about losing something (especially my boarding documents and ID).
Being able to slide my bag over the handle of my carry-on was a dream. No more tugging at the strap of my bag to keep it on my shoulder, no more pulling the strap off my neck when I try to cross carry but the bag decides to choke me instead…. just slide it on and walk.
Getting on the plane was just as easy and I wasn’t smacking people in the face or shoulders with my bag as I walked down the aisle. When I reached my seat the bag easily slid off the handle and fit under the seat in front of me during the flight.
