If you were to go through our 25 years of family photos… for the first 10 years or so of them you would start to notice a trend. I am nowhere to be seen. Typically it’s because I was the person taking the photos, but on the rare occasion someone tried to take a photo of me I would make a face, throw my arm in front of my face, hide behind another person next to me or turn and hide. I hated having my photo taken.

Recently I have come to the realization that my family loves me for who I am, not what I think I look like. To them, I am beautiful 100% of the time. Life is precious and short… some day they will cherish these photos (as will I).

So now I am the instigator.  I have many times begged my family to stop, smile and pretend they love being with me (don’t you love how the littles can’t hide their disdain for having to pose?).

Dove feels the same way… and they want you to Show us your Camera Courage!

    I learned that the camera courage booth will be at my local Walmart! How fun!! I think this promotion is so great!! So many moms (me included) don’t want to be in the pictures and/or are always the person taking the pictures but our children will want pictures of us when they are older!

    I am always bloated and felt that photos do not capture the real person-but that is how I look and I have enough people who love me that way so I now smile my best and go for it. I got Dove glycerin soaps and body wash this year for my husband( who does not like creamy things for the skin) because it has been very dry and cold; he likes them and made a point of telling me so. Well done Dove!
