My Everyday Heroes | Disney Planes Fire & Rescue
This blog post is part of a paid SocialMoms and Disney Planes Fire & Rescue blogging program. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.
When people say the word “hero”… most automatically think of fictional characters like Captain America, Iron Man, and Superman (etc.).
You know, the ones with super strength and “powers” that mystically save many people or even the world.
The heroes I think of affect my life on a daily basis.
I have a house full of (everyday) heroes.
An everyday hero, to me, is trustworthy, honest, accountable, loyal, caring, giving, loving, unselfish and kind among other traits.
An everyday hero may not be capable of saving the world, but they have made an impact/difference on someone’s life.
An every day person can be a hero, even if it is just to one person.
This hero does it because they care and not for what they can gain from their actions.
This defines all four of my children. Their unconditional love for me has changed my life forever… for good.
From their “I love you Mommy” to their random hugs and kisses (because they somehow “knew” I needed one) to reading to their siblings or helping each other pick up because they want to help me.
As they get older their heroic acts change, but they are still visible and very valuable. My oldest, although she is off in college, offers to run errands for me when she’s home and even considers my “household” needs as she shops clearance racks/aisles.
No matter how insignificant they might think these little acts of heroism are, they are huge in my book. That makes them a true hero.

Dusty is learning about becoming a hero as well in Disney Planes Fire & Rescue:
Bring home the thrill of a lifetime with Disney’s Planes Fire and Rescue. This heart-pumping comedy-adventure features a dynamic crew of elite aircraft devoted to protecting historic Piston Peak National Park from raging wildfire. When world famous air racer Dusty learns that he may never race again, he must shift gears and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting. Dusty joins forces with a team of veteran firefighters and together, they battle a massive fire and Dusty learns what it takes to become a true hero.
This DVD would make a fabulous addition to your holiday gift list. It’s a exciting, high energy action-adventure story for the entire family filled with humor and heart. My kids were enthralled while watching Dusty learn what it takes to be a real hero.
