Step2 High Seas Adventure Sand and Water Table With Umbrella

In the box and out
We are so excited to kick off our summer with the Step2 High Seas Adventure Sand & Water Table with Umbrella. The day it arrived I couldn’t get it set up fast enough for the kids. Luckily it was a nice hot day for playing in water.

Out of the box there was some assembly required, but it only took me about 5 minutes to put it together… quick and easy by following the directions. With the table came 3 pouring cups, squirting alligator, a boy and a girl pirate, a palm tree, pirate ship (the palm tree and pirate ship each have a spinning water wheel) and a nice big umbrella for the days you just need some shade.

Using Rainbow Rice
Once it was all together the kids filled up the water side while I made some rainbow rice to put in the “sand” side. Having both sides filled the kids were off on their high seas adventure playing and making each other walk the plank.

Sand and water side
There is a lid that you can place over the water side so that you can only play in the “sand” or whatever you choose to put in. We have also used wheat, (as I live in farm country and there is a endless supply of wheat around here).

You can also place the lid over the “sand” side and only have access to the water side. We did take the lid off so that they had access to both sides and I will admit that they loved bouncing back and forth, but it didn’t take long for the water and rice to be mixed in both sides and turn into a mess.

Clean out added Wheat
Cleaning out the water table was easy. The water side has a plug for easy draining and so then it was just scooping out the rice I had in there.  Once cleaned out I re-filled the water side with clean water and filled the “sand” side with wheat.

I decided to leave the lid on one side and just switch the lid back and forth between the water and “sand” side so they only had access to one at a time. This prevented the 2 sides from mixing. I have also added bubble bath to the water to add some extra fun to the adventure they were on.

The height of the table is a great hight for I would say 18 months and up. The table is super sturdy and firm. My 10 month pulls himself up at the water table all the time and there is no wobbles or any worry at all that it’s going to tip or fall over on him.

With the umbrella on it is a little small for my 6 year old to fit underneath, but that doesn’t stop him from ducking or going on his knees to play. The top of the umbrella easily removes leaving just the bottom of the umbrella post for when you want to put the umbrella back in.

    I like their products are made in the USA and how easy are for moms to assembly and set up these toys. No hard work while putting the parts together. Its perfect for kids 1.5 yrs old s they can start playing and getting to know other textures like sand. My daughter and her friends would enjoy this one so much!
