I am a romantic at heart. I totally believe in love at first site, because I have experienced it…. many times.
My first time was when I was 16. It was my first day on the job and as I walked past the line of cooks in the back I caught a glimpse of him. I worked the front line of a fast food place… he worked the back line (cook). He used to tease me about my two different colors of eye shadow and about how the loops of my stirrup pants were behind my ankles (my pants had shrunk and the stirrups kept pulling my pants down). It made me giggle and blush every time he’d tease me. Less than a month later we were dating and I knew I’d be with him for the rest of my life.
I’ve also experienced love at first site at the birth of all of my children. The site of those beautiful, pink, squirming, screaming bundles of love brought me to tears… every single time. I would always wonder how I could love another person as much as the others in my life, and then as soon as I saw them I knew exactly how… and that I do. I would have done (and would still do) anything for any and all of them… they are my life.
Nearly twenty-seven years after meeting my first love I now have five to be thankful for! I know it’s not traditional, but I enjoy sharing Valentines Day with all of them. That why I get excited when I find Valentine’s Day Deals that help save me a few bucks. I can shop the traditional romantic items for my husband and find cutsie and fun items for the kids.
