The Word Girl series from PBS Kids, Scholastic Media, and Paramount Home Entertainment is released just in time for Halloween!

My Take:
Although PBS Kids is a staple at our house, Emma (3 1/2) was not familiar with the Word Girl series. We had recently been talking about the fact that Halloween was just a couple of months away and what exactly happens on Halloween. She has been talking about candy and baskets (bags) for days on end, so when I showed her the Word Girl DVD she raced me to the living room!
Word Girl: Tricks & Treats was a huge hit! Emma asked to watch it three times just that evening. I love how it integrates learning new vocabulary into the story… she didn’t even realize she was learning! It’s nice to see a female super hero… her super power is knowledge (Yeah!). Pop the DVD into your CD rom drive on the computer to use it for interactive games and print out coloring pages.
