My husband and I have been so incredibly blessed with 2 healthy kids. Having both a boy and a girl has been such an experience… from learning to deal with all the different types of experiences that both a boy and a girl brings. Well now that our son is almost 5 and our daughter is 2 what does life bring us next…….?
ANOTHER blessing!
We are super excited to finally share with OurKidsMom readers that we are expecting our 3rd child!
I’m due July 13, 2013
I’m currently 13 weeks, and finally starting to feel a little more human.
Since about 5-6 weeks I have been so sick, not being able to eat anything without getting sick. In some ways this pregnancy is a lot similar to my son’s in the way that I can’t stand beef, the smell, look, taste, or even just the thought would send me running to the bathroom. There are also similarities to my pregnancy with my daughter as well … I crave salt (normally I don’t like salt on anything). Right now I crave Lays plain chips just for the salt.
We found out the gender with both of our other 2 as soon as we could, but I’m very torn whether I want to know with this one or not. Now that I have both a boy and a girl already it would be nice to have that surprise at the end. On the other hand I think I’ll have a hard time saying no when they ask me if I would like to know the gender. I’m horrible with surprises and keeping secrets.
We have decided to go with a midwife with this baby and I had my first appointment this week. This is our first time going with a midwife and I couldn’t have been MORE excited for this appointment. I’m 13 weeks and up until this appointment we hadn’t heard the heartbeat yet.
It was finally time to lay down and check for the heartbeat… it took a minute and there it was. I heard a heartbeat and then the midwife said "That would be your heartbeat". Ahhh the disappointment. Thoughts were racing through my mind like "What if she can’t find it?"… THEN there it was. The most amazing sound a mother can ever hear… "Whoosh whoosh whoosh…"
My kids were there with us to hear it and we had to explain to our son that the noise he heard was the baby. He then asked, "Is the baby burping!?!?". Oh the innocents of our children.
I’m told we will have a ultra sound around 18 weeks, so stay tuned for more pictures to come! I might even have some news to share with you…. like is it going to be a Boy or Girl?
That is the ultimate question!

congrats….
Congratulations! What a blessing! Thanks for sharing your awesome news.
Congrats!!! That is so exciting. !!
Yay Heather! Kaytlin and Emma are both such gorgeous girls that I kind of hope your blessing is another little girl. 🙂
Scratch that above, Heather I thought it was you until I read a little lower! 😛
Congrats!!! Babies are such an amazing blessing from God! Wish you a very healthy 9 months!
Congratulations! How do your kids feel about it? Are they excited? I have only one child and debate on whether I want any more.. I think my son would have a really difficult time with it though if I did. He’s 5 and has been an only child..
As for McKenna my 2year old I’m not sure how much she understands, she knows she can’t crawl on my tummy she tells me “Baby in tummy mommy” Where my almost 5 year old son Karson was super excited when we told him, he prays for the baby every night and asks to find out “if it’s a Boy baby or a Lady baby” We have told him we can’t pick a boy or girl so we have to be happy with whatever we are given. He’s always been a very good and proud big brother to McKenna, he’ll be a great help with this one too. I actually enjoy the age gap because they understand more and can actually be a help with the baby.
Congratulations and prayers for a wonderful and safe pregnancy.
Congratulations! I’m glad you’re feeling a little more human these days.
Oh, Congrats! I miss my babies, enjoy yours to the fullest!
