We’ve been working on our bedroom makeover… from the bedding and sheets to the walls. All of that is finally done. The final touch on my bedroom makeover was window coverings. If you remember… my bedroom looked like this…

I always have a difficult time with window treatments. Heck, I’ve been shopping for new curtains for my kitchen for months now. I was determined to make a final decision on these, though, because I wanted my bedroom to be complete.

Because of our location, I have not been fortunate enough to visit a physical Ikea location. I have heard so many good things about their store… I hope to someday make it there. Because I like to shop online I finally ventured over to the Ikea website… and I am glad I did!

I was amazed at the selection of curtains on the Ikea website. There is something for practically every price range, from $4.99 on up. After narrowing down my selections based on the color I was looking for I decided on the Dagny set.

Ikea sent us a pair of Dagny light beige curtains to finish off our room. Usually I am having to check and re-check lengths of the curtain versus the height it would be at in my room before I commit to them. The Dagny curtains were easy to shop for because they are very long at 98 3/8”, but they are easily shortened to the exact length you need with (included) iron-on hemming strips.

I was happy to see that the Dagny curtains can be hung on curtain rods, wires or a KVARTAL suspension system. This makes them super versatile and should work with whatever existing hanging device you already have (rods can add up fast!). As you can see in the picture above, they did bunch up at the ends because they are too long. I am still trying to decide if I want to hem from the bottom (with the included iron on tape) or go from the top to diminish (or even eliminate) the darker toned material.

I was very pleased how well the light beige in the curtain matched the light beige color of the flowers on the comforter. I was unsure about the shiny fabric, but it went well with the set. From the shopping experience (selection and customer service) to the quality of the item received I am very pleased with Ikea. I hope they some day choose to build a location near Kansas City, Missouri!
