- Alcohol
It goes without saying that alcohol can be hugely damaging to your health, even if you are only drinking every so often. Alcohol can not only cause issues with your liver in the long term, but it can also cause poor decision making, tiredness and is closely linked with addictive behavior. Opt for non-alcoholic beverages whenever you can and you will feel so much better!
- Cotton Swabs in Your Ears
When you are cleaning your ears it can be very tempting to use a cotton swab to clear out any excess ear wax. In truth, this is actually doing more harm than good as it pushes the wax further into the ear canal. Many people don’t realize the dangers of earwax & cotton swabs, so it’s important to spread the message. You should never put anything smaller than your elbow into your ear, as you risk serious infection and blockages.
- Too Much Screen Time
Screen time is something many of us are guilty of having too much of on a daily basis. Although you may feel as though it’s not affecting your health, it could be causing a significant impact on your mental wellbeing. Instead of socializing with your friends you may be scrolling on your phone, and this isn’t a healthy way to live your life.
- Excess Sugar
Too much added sugar in your diet is closely linked to weight gain, diabetes and other serious illnesses. You should consume sugar with caution and try to limit sweets, chocolate and baked goods in your diet as much as possible. A treat every now and again won’t impact your health; everything should be consumed in moderation. With that being said, sugar is an extremely addictive substance so you should try and reduce it as much as possible to preserve your overall wellbeing.
- Low Sleep
Lack of sleep is linked to a whole host of health issues that you may not realize. Premature aging, loss of concentration and poor nutrition can often stem from a bad night’s sleep. Getting a full eight hours is hugely beneficial to your overall health as it helps to restore your muscles as you sleep. If you often feel overtired or fatigued throughout the day, your sleeping pattern could be to blame.
Although it can be very tempting to stay up late and watch the final episode of your favorite series, now is the time to prioritize your sleep. You will soon have improved overall health if you can consider all of the ideas mentioned above.
