Little Scholar Learning Adventure Kids Tablet

Emma and Ethan have a lot of experience with tablets from the past few years… but none have been anything like the Little Scholar.
Little Scholar tablet from SchoolZone is an educational tablet that is jam packed with 150 educational apps (including videos, songs and e-books), valued at nearly $400 worth of FREE content.
The Little Scholar tablet provides its users with lessons based on all of the “core curriculum” subjects for preschoolers, kindergartners, and first graders, including math, reading, spelling, logic, creativity, and geography. Parents can even use an App management tool to choose the apps, music, and e-books that are active on Little Scholar, so they can tailor the content to fit the learning needs of their children.
This is one of the few tablets geared for ages 3-7 and features an 8-inch screen and runs a Google Android™ 4.2.2 operating system.
Out of the box I was already impressed. The feel of the tablet was good and sturdy, and I did not feel the need to hunt down a case for my 6 & 8 year olds before they could use it. (If I had children on the lower part of the age range, I probably would though.)
The tablet is very easy to navigate as everything is displayed on one “page”.
To be honest I was surprised that Ethan didn’t dive head on into the Kindergarten area. Instead he did a little exploring in the other areas and found a paint by number program.
Although Ethan already recognizes his numbers, he enjoyed filling in the areas. It seemed to me that it was calming for him and he created several pages before exploring the rest of the tablet.
Ethan has evolved into a very science oriented child. He loves things like building, dinosaurs, how things work and has yet to bring home a non-fiction book yet.
Little Scholar is perfect for a kiddo like him.
Ethan found an app that let’s you build a skeleton and it is now his favorite. As you pick the bone and drag it to it’s position the tablet reads the name for you. I could hear Ethan softly repeating the names of the bones while he assembled his skeleton. Now when he plays he is able to “read” the names a bit because he’s recognizing and remembering the names while he plays.
I can’t say enough good things about the Little Scholar tablet. Ethan has slowly shifted from brainless apps on his iPad and has immersed himself in apps that teach him while he plays. His love of learning is growing and his knowledge and skills are blossoming. Even Emma, who is weeks away from her 8th birthday and is in 2nd grade, has found a few challenging activities to play on Little Scholar.

I love there are so many apps. You would never run out of activities on it. We use their workbooks all of the time. I find them helpful and the kids think they are fun.

I like that it comes preloaded with many apps that are relevant to my grand kids.
My 3y.o. granddaughter always wants mommy’s phone or daddy’s ipad. It would be great for her to have her own. She is also a big fan of “rewards” and I like the fact that the Little Scholar has rewards when things are completed.
