Mamas & Papas is known as Britain’s favorite baby brand and they have just introduced their 2013 product line to the US. Their selection of baby products is amazing. From baby clothes, strollers, carriers, nursery decor, highchairs, bouncers,  and toys, there is an endless selection to shop. Mamas & Papas is a family-run company that has taken great pride in creating products like this baby gym that make everyday routines so much simpler.

I received a Mamas & Papas Activity Gym – Magic stargaze to review (all opinions are my own). Taking it out of the box there was a bit of assembly required. The instructions were all pictures and I did get a little bit confused with the beginning of assembly, but it wasn’t long before I had it all figured out and assembled took about about 15-20 min.

There are so many features on this playmate, it’s hard to pick where to start. First thing I noticed was the great choice in colors for this mat. I love the fact that it is very gender neutral, that it just catches your eye as soon as you see it and the modern look that this activity gym has.

My favorite feature is the Magic card technology that plugs in and plays. There are 2 cards that come with the mat. Musical Fun creates a musical light show for your baby to interact with. The second is a card that you can insert to make your playmate compatible with your Mp3 player. When my husband heard that it is was Mp3 compatible he got pretty excited. He loved the thought that he could pick out the music for our baby to listen to (this may scare me a little). We can pick the music and the activity mat will provide the light show to keep our baby entertained.

There is a fantastic light show that plays on the arch with the music and it is completely interactive with your baby’s kicks and movements. At your baby’s feet you will find a kick pad that triggers light movements along with interactive pull toys that hang down above your baby. The light movement keeps your baby’s eyes chasing the stars as they are constantly moving around with your baby.

My 2 1/2 year old daughter has loved this arch light show ever since I got it set up. She figured out where the power switch was right away, laid under the “stars” and began playing and interacting.

This Play mat Activity Gym will grow with your baby. At 0+ months it is a interactive play mat and gym. At 6+ months it comes with a tummy time cushion to support your baby off the mat to allow them to explore and discover fun features hidden in the mat such as crinkle fabric, taggie grass, hidden squeakers, fluffy texture, and a peek-a-boo mirror. Then at 9+ months you can detach the arches to create a play mat for your baby to play on. Along the outside of the mat and on the arches there are extra loops so you can attach extra favorite toys.

There are extra themed magic card packs that you can purchase to change up the music and characters for your baby to interactive with. Overall I can’t find one thing I would change with this play mat. It is so well developed with such amazing technology that it has us in awe and we’re sure it will keep baby busy and entertained. All of the magic cards can be used in any of the Mamas & Papas MAGIC range of baby toys.
