Cool Whip Frosting Now In Your Freezer Aisle
I have always been a Cool Whip fan.
Ok… I’ll be honest… a Cool Whip fanatic.
I have been known to open the freezer and scoop out a couple of spoonfuls of frozen Cool Whip just because. I would rather have a bowl of frozen Cool Whip than a bowl of ice cream.
Yep. See… I told you!
So when I heard about Cool Whip’s new frosting I had to give it a try!
I found my frosting at Price Chopper right next to the regular Cool Whip in the frozen food aisle. They carried vanilla, chocolate and cream cheese.
Ethan was so excited when I told him what it was we just bought. He loves to bake with me. He likes to help with everything, but ultimately he loves the outcome. When we got home we put the Cool Whip on the counter to thaw and started making our batter.
It was perfect timing for the cupcakes so once the frosting was ready I treated it like regular frosting. I added some gel food coloring, then gave it a good stir to distribute the color. I decided I wanted to see how well it took shape so I loaded up my decorator bag and used Wilton tip 1M to top all of the cupcakes.
Once I was done I then added a little edible glitter on top for some shimmer. I’ve used this combination before and loved it. It feels very wintery to me and makes me think of fresh fallen snow.
There doesn’t have to be a reason to make cupcakes, but this time around I was celebrating my love, compassion and friendship for my neighbor. She recently lost her mother and I wanted to let their family know I was thinking of them…. so I sent my cupcakes over around dinnertime. It wasn’t long thereafter I received this text message:
I’ll be honest with you… we kept a few cupcakes for us to try.
I had to… they looked so yummy!
I loved the frosting, but I am not a huge buttercream fan because it makes my stomach hurt. Since I am biased I decided to ask the kids what they thought.
I believe Ethan agreed with me.
A tub of Cool Whip frosting quotes 16 servings at 60 calories a serving. I had no issues frosting all 24 of my cupcakes. I love that I’m not loading my cupcakes with tons of sugar and since the entire container frosted all two dozen it only added 40 calories to each cupcake. The only issue you need to take into consideration with this frosting is that it needs to be refrigerated once your cake is frosted.

When I first tried this frosting I just had to tell everyone I knew . I loved it. I’m not much of a sweets eater but when I found this I was baking a cake every two weeks. I love in Sheboygan Wi. I went to the store about a month ago and to my surprise the stores here in Sheboygan no longer sell them. What the hell is up with that.
