Based on the hit Emmy®-nominated PBS KIDS series Dinosaur Train, TOMY has developed an extensive line of original Dinosaur Train toys under the Company’s licensing agreement with The Jim Henson Company. All aboard for Arctic adventures! This motorized train set teaches kids that dinosaurs had just as much fun playing out in the snow as they do frolicking in the forest. This set comes with three collectible figures, two Arctic cardboard destination tunnels, an all-new snow covered Pteranodon Station, and over eight feet of track! Ages: 3 and up. MSRP: $24.99–$29.99

My kids have always enjoyed watching Dinosaur Train on PBS and I love that there is always something new to learn on each of their fun adventures. My kids also enjoy trains, so when Tomy offered to let them try the new Dinosaur Train Arctic Adventure Motorized Train Set I was game!

This is a fairly simple train set consisting of tracks, train, figures and station (and a paper archway). The directions give a set way to put the tracks (sort of a kidney shape) so that the archway will fit over it, but my children have since figured out that there are multiple shapes you can assemble with the track in.

The tracks are made of a hard plastic and snap together. The train is super simple to connect in line and with a press of the chimney is moves along the track. Our only issue with assembly was with the cardboard archway. The directions weren’t perfectly clear on how it assembled and I finally “made it work”. To be honest, my children have since discarded the archway because it tends to fall over when they play and frustrates them.

I have been asked if I thought the tracks were compatible with other tracks from other brands… I only have wooden sets so I cannot say for sure. My guess is probably not, but for the price I’m loving the simplicity of this track. It’s super quick to assemble, the kids seem to have just as much fun pretending, making the dinosaurs interact and watching the train go around as they do with the big sets and clean up is a breeze (not to mention storage). This simple fun set is a hit!
