Tori Vega and the students at Hollywood Arts High School shine even brighter in Victorious: The Complete Second Season. The show follows teenager Tori Vega (Victoria Justice) who attends the prestigious performing arts high school, Hollywood Arts.  From her first day at the school, however, Tori feels out of place among the amazingly talented students,especially mean diva Jade (Elizabeth Gillies, Broadway’s 13).  But with the help of her older sister Trina (Daniella Monet, A Fairly Odd Movie, Nancy Drew) and new friends including the musically gifted Andre (Leon Thomas III, August Rush,Broadway’s The Lion King, iCarly), brooding bad boy Beck (Avan Jogia, Spectacular!), eccentric Cat (Ariana Grande, Broadway’s 13) and lovable but psychologically scrambled ventriloquist Robbie (Matthew Bennett).  Tori realizes that she was born to perform and that entertaining people not only makes her happy but may change her life.

I love that Nickelodeon offers decent shows for our pre-teens, teens (and yes even us moms) to watch. With the choice of shows available right now, I know that I can turn this on and not have to explain situations, words or actions (or even just turn it off). Victorious is just that.

    I learned that: Trina is Tori’s older sister by one year. Though she is likeable, everything is always about Trina. It’s been like that forever and she truly believes stardom is her destiny. The truth: Trina has the attitude of an A-list star but the actual talent of a much lower grade.
