Emma and Ethan have recently fallen in love with train sets. They have the standard wooden set and a character set, so when Little Tikes offered to let them review the Construction Peak Roll ‘n Road set we were up for it!

At first we were a little intimidated by the size of the box. I thought for sure this was going to take up half a room 
. Fortunately, it was single boxed into a double box. We poured everything out and sorted the pieces to make sure everything was there. I was happy to find that all of the stickers were already adhered because I knew the kids wouldn’t have the patience to wait.
I had a little trouble getting the two pieces of the mountain together and fastened, but after a little adjusting it finally went together. After the mountain was together the rest was a breeze. The entire set fit nicely on the kids train table.
Emma was the first tester to get her hands on the set. She immediately went for the crane and boulders. I had to show her a few times how to get the crane to move correctly and I think it was probably a little stiff. After she got the kinks out she had a great time manipulating the boulders down the mountain and onto the train.
The kids love the set. From pushing the train and truck around the track/road, to dropping boulders into the carts to pushing the vehicles down the hill. I think that this will get a lot of use, even without the mountain I am sure the kids will be putting the tracks together and playing.

Aranda Jr. would love this toy extremely!… He adores “Thomas the tank engine”- so basically, he’s obsessed with anything that has to do with railroad tracks–in general… His birthday is coming up on: October 22nd, 2011- and he’s turning 4 years old.
